About Operation Empowerment, Inc.
Founded by Leigh Lomax in 2004, Operation Empowerment, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit organization and is fully recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3). Its mission is educational research and outreach. Today, its primary focus is to help Florida’s students improve their reading and writing skills and to reach and pass the FCAT benchmarks required for promotion and graduation purposes.
Mrs. Lomax believes that all students can achieve high results in reading and writing, but not all students learn the same way. That is why our approach at Operation Empowerment is to develop educational programming that works for all of our students. We develop “right-brain” techniques to help “left-brain” students and “left-brain” techniques to help “right-brain” students. Students with strong analytic abilities tend to need creative approaches to lesson planning while students with strong creative abilities tend to need more analytical approaches. We design and develop our materials to reach students with both types of learning abilities. Our results are in the numbers.
